Sometimes we wonder if God really loves us---not abstractly
but as an individual.
GOD LOVES YOU--JUST AS YOU ARE. NEVER DOUBT IT.
God
loves you so much that He can't bear to be separated from
you even a little bit. And that's why He did the most
incredible thing imaginable----FOR YOU---and me too!
"For God so loved YOU that He gave His only Son that whoever
believes in Him should not die but have eternal life." John
3:16
"But God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much that even
though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, he
gave us back our lives again when he raised Christ from the
dead--only by his undeserved favor have we ever been saved."
Ephesians 2:4
TODAY IS YOUR DAY TO BE JOINED TO GOD! DON'T WAIT.
Hebrews 4:7 "Today when you hear him calling, do not harden
your hearts against him."
He has
made a way for you to joined to Him---in a Covenant
relationship. No matter who else wants to be with you or
doesn't---God does! It is His desire to have
fellowship with you in an intimate way, both now, and
throughout eternity.
But
there's a problem. We are separated from him because of
something called 'sin' which simply means 'missing the
mark'. We all miss the mark of perfection.
“As the Scriptures say, ‘No one is good – not even one.
No one has real understanding; no one is seeking God. All
have turned away from God; all have gone wrong. No one does
good, not even one.’" Romans 3:10-12
See, you’re
not alone. All of humanity was born imperfect. And God, in
his love, has provided a way past this so we can enjoy His
presence right now---and also in eternity.
In past
times, He gave strict laws and commands to guide us in how
we should conduct our relationships with God and with our
neighbors. But no one could measure up, because God sees our
hearts and motives. The Laws made us aware of just how badly
we behave towards all.
God, in
His Mercy, not only provided forgiveness, but also provided
the internal “change of heart” we need to fulfill His
requirements; simply by having faith in what He has promised
to us to make us righteous.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God
is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans
6:23
"So, we see that no one can ever be right with God by
trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is
through faith that a righteous person has life." Galatians
3:11
“And the result of God's gracious gift is very different
from the result of that one man's sin. For Adam's sin led to
condemnation, but we have the free gift of being accepted by
God, even though we are guilty of many sins. The sin of
this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over us, but all
who receive God's wonderful, gracious gift of righteousness
will live in triumph over sin and death through this one
man, Jesus Christ. ” Romans 5:16-17
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him will not perish but have
eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn it, but to save it. "There is no judgment awaiting
those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have
already been judged for not believing in the only Son of
God." John 3:16-21
THEN, WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?
BELIEVE---RECEIVE---CONFESS.
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you
will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you
are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your
mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, "Anyone
who believes in him will not be disappointed”
Romans 10:9-11
If you’re
tired of living without intimate fellowship with God---if
you're looking for Hope and for purpose, this gift is for
you. And it all begins with a simple prayer…..
“Heavenly Father, I see my need for you and your Son, Jesus.
I confess that I've fallen short of your mark of perfection
and I ask your forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I believe
that He died for my sins and rose from the dead. I believe
that His sacrifice was enough to save me. Please take over
my life and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Guide me, and
teach me Your will for my life. Thank you...God. Amen”
If you
prayed that prayer with all your heart, God heard it and has
entered into a Covenant relationship with you. Your life
will never be the same.
So,
what’s next? Get a Bible- it is God’s love letter to
you. Begin by reading the gospel of John, an historical
eyewitness account of Jesus’ life and ministry on earth.
Romans is a good second book, written by the apostle Paul,
it tells a lot about God’s love for his people. Then maybe
read Genesis and Exodus; it gives a lot of background and
foundation to everything else.

Listen carefully to that 'voice' in your heart. It will be God speaking to you. When you know it’s
him (and you will), be obedient. Constant disobedience
causes you to lose touch with God---not because He’s left
you, but because you haven't listened.
But, even
if you walk away from God, it’s always only one step back.
He's just one prayer away.
